    Program Overview

The Drywall Finisher Program is a modular, Red Seal–aligned training course designed to prepare students for specialized work in the finishing phase of construction. Drywall finishers play a key role in creating smooth, seamless wall and ceiling surfaces, ready for paint or decorative finishes in residential, commercial, and institutional buildings.

This program offers students hands-on training in taping, mudding, sanding, texturing, and patchwork. Learners will work with various finishing compounds and tools, master the use of corner beads and joint tapes, and understand how to work efficiently with different wall systems and layouts. Emphasis is placed on precision, cleanliness, surface preparation, and working safely on active job sites.

Graduates of this program will be eligible to pursue Red Seal Certification in the Drywall Finisher and Plasterer trade. This national credential ensures recognition of their skills across provinces, improves job opportunities, and reinforces their reputation as a detail-oriented, high-quality tradesperson.
