    Program Overview

The Cabinetmaking Program is a modular, Red Seal–aligned training course designed to prepare students for careers in woodworking, millwork, and custom cabinetry. Cabinetmakers are skilled tradespeople who build and install furniture, cabinets, and architectural woodwork for residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Their craftsmanship is essential in creating functional, customized interiors that combine design, structure, and precision.

This program provides students with a strong foundation in woodworking techniques, materials, blueprint reading, joinery, furniture construction, and finishing processes. Through a mix of theoretical instruction and hands-on shop training, students learn to work with both manual and power tools, read and interpret technical drawings, and construct cabinetry to exact specifications.

Graduates will be equipped to pursue Red Seal Certification in the Cabinetmaker trade. This nationally recognized endorsement allows tradespeople to work across provinces, increase their career mobility, and demonstrate a high level of skill in one of Canada’s most detail-oriented and in-demand trades.
