    Program Overview

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) program at Futures Canadian College is designed to prepare compassionate professionals who can deliver essential support across ones lifespan. This includes assisting individuals with daily living activities and supporting those experiencing cognitive impairments, physical disabilities, or mental health challenges.

The online format of this program is a flexible program which allows students to learn at their own pace while preparing for high-demand roles in Ontario’s healthcare system.

The services provided by PSWs are tailored to individual needs and may include personal care such as hygiene and mobility, as well as home management responsibilities like meal preparation and housekeeping. PSWs also support families through caregiving and participation in recreational or social activities.

This PSW training in Ontario emphasizes both technical skill and human compassion. As front-line caregivers, PSWs must ensure the safety, comfort, and dignity of their clients, while respecting diverse cultural and emotional needs.

Graduates with a personal support worker certificate are equipped to work in various healthcare settings including:

    · Long-term care homes

    · Retirement communities

    · Hospitals and adult day programs

    · Educational and group home settings

    · Home care services—especially those connected to Ontario Health at home jobs, which are part of the province’s growing community-based care initiative.

We also understand that cost is a key consideration for many students. Our team is here to support you with transparent information on PSW course fees, including detailed guidance on the PSW course fee for international students, helping you plan your education with confidence.
