    Phlebotomy Course Overview

    The Cabinet Making Program equips students with essential woodworking skills for building, installing, and finishing furniture, cabinets, and architectural woodwork. Students develop a solid foundation in materials, joinery, blueprint reading, safety, and furniture construction. Graduates will be well prepared to pursue Red Seal Certification in Cabinetmaking, opening doors to work across provinces and demonstrating a nationally recognized level of expertise.

    Duration & Schedule

    • Course Length: 3 Modules | 39.5 hours per module (118.5 hours total)
    • Mode of Learning: In-class with shop training
    • Students: Domestic & International
    • Credential: Certificate of Completion, Red Seal–aligned

    In the Cabinet Making Program, you will:

    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the cabinetmaking trade, including tools, safety, and shop practices.
    • Learn to identify, select, and work with different wood types, materials, and finishes.
    • Gain proficiency with both hand and power tools used in cabinetmaking.
    • Acquire the ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings accurately.
    • Practice joinery and woodworking techniques to assemble frames, drawers, doors, and custom furniture.
    • Learn to install and finish cabinets with precision, applying stains, varnishes, and protective coatings.
    • Understand workplace safety measures and apply them consistently in shop practice.
    • Troubleshoot common construction challenges and repair errors in woodworking projects.

    Entry Requirements

    To join the course, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    Age: Minimum 18 years
    Education: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
    Interview: Live online or in-person interview with Admissions
    Language Proficiency: CLB Level 6 or IELTS 5.5 overall (or equivalent)
    Credential Assessment: Certificates or diplomas earned outside Canada must be assessed for equivalency by WES or ICAS
    Technical Skills: Strong interest in woodworking, carpentry, or design fabrication (prior shop experience an asset)

    Q: Is the Cabinet Making program Red Seal certified?

     A: The program is Red Seal–aligned, preparing students with the knowledge and skills needed to challenge the Red Seal Cabinetmaker exam.

     A: No prior experience is required, but having basic carpentry or shop exposure is considered an asset.

    A: Yes. Students complete practical builds such as cabinet frames, drawers, and furniture projects, giving them the confidence to transition directly into the workforce.
