    The ESL Adult Language Program at Futures Canadian College is a multi-level English language training course tailored for adult learners who wish to improve their speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills for personal, academic, or professional growth. Offered across four progressive levels, each consisting of 36 hours, the program provides a supportive and immersive learning environment that builds fluency and confidence.

    Students begin with foundational grammar and vocabulary and gradually progress toward more advanced communication, including practical use of English in real-world settings. This program is ideal for newcomers to Canada, international students, and professionals preparing for standardized English exams like IELTS or CELPIP.

    Each level includes interactive lessons, group discussions, role-plays, and writing exercises that promote cultural understanding and functional language use. Students enrolled in Level 3 and Level 4 also receive focused support and exam strategies to help them prepare for the IELTS or CELPIP exams, making the program a great stepping stone for future study, immigration, or employment pathways.

    Course Objectives

    Upon successful completion of each level, students will be able to:

    · Use appropriate vocabulary and sentence structures for common conversations.

    · Improve pronunciation, listening comprehension, and everyday communication.

    · Develop writing skills for emails, forms, reports, and personal expression.

    · Read and understand articles, signs, instructions, and short stories.

    · Build cultural fluency and comfort communicating in Canadian settings.

    · In Levels 3 & 4: Prepare for IELTS or CELPIP with exam-focused practice and strategies.

    · Demonstrate increased language proficiency based on the CEFR scale.

    Program Modules

    Each level includes integrated skill development in the following areas:

    Admission Requirements

    • 18 years of age or older.
    • Assessment: Online or In-person Counselling
    • Result to Prove English Proficiency:
      • IELTS (Academic) – 6.0 overall
      • IELTS (General) – 6.0 overall with each band 6.0
      • PTE (Academic) – 51 overall
      • TOEFL IBT – 60 overall
      • CELPIP – 7 overall with each band 7
    • In the absence of the above ESL required.
    • Secondary or Post Secondary Degree Diploma.

    Learning Outcomes

    • Maintain workflow by studying methods; implementing cost reductions; and developing reporting procedures.
    • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record keeping systems, forms control, office layout, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing changes.
    • Develop administrative staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.
    • Resolve administrative problems by coordinating preparation of reports, analyzing data, and identifying solutions.
    • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
    • Provide information by answering questions and requests. Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies.

    Job Responsibilities

    • General office support, including phone calls, emails, and maintaining office organization.
    • Document creation, formatting, editing, and proofreading using office software.
    • Accurate data entry and management with a focus on data integrity and confidentiality.
    • Scheduling appointments, meetings, and coordinating events.
    • Making travel arrangements for business trips.
    • Greeting and assisting visitors, clients, or customers.
    • Maintaining organized physical and electronic records and files.
    • Preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes, and distributing relevant documents.
    • Monitoring and ordering office supplies, managing inventory.
    • Tracking and documenting expenses, processing reimbursements, and budget management.
