The Medical Transcriptionist Certificate Program at FCC is designed for individuals seeking to enter the healthcare documentation field with confidence. Through four progressive levels, students develop skills in transcription accuracy, medical transcription classes vocabulary, and professional documentation standards. By program completion, learners are ready for complex, real-world assignments in diverse medical settings.
· Course Length: 4 Levels | 39 hours per level (156 total hours)
· Mode of Learning: Online / Hybrid

· Hands-On: Real transcription practice with case-based dictations

You will work with actual audio recordings and simulated clinical scenarios, ensuring that you’re ready to step into the field with confidence. These real-world transcription exercises replicate the demands of the workplace, helping you transition smoothly from training to employment.
Training includes exposure to professional transcription software and EMR systems, giving you practical experience with the tools employers expect you to use. By learning on the same platforms used in hospitals and clinics, you’ll be fully prepared to adapt to employer systems with ease.
From resume-building workshops to mock interviews, the program is designed to prepare you for immediate entry into the job market, connecting you with employers across the GTA. Our dedicated career services team continues to provide guidance and referrals even after graduation, supporting your long-term success.

· Age: Minimum 18 years
· Education: Secondary School Diploma (OSSD or equivalent) with at least 60% GPA
· Interview: Live online or in-person interview with Admissions
· Language Proficiency: IELTS 5.5+, PTE, CELPIP, or TOEFL score to demonstrate English proficiency (if applicable)
· Credential Assessment: Certificates or degrees obtained outside Canada must be evaluated for equivalency by WES or ICAS
· Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy, including typing and MS Word proficiency
· Technology Access: Personal device (laptop/desktop) with reliable internet connection for hybrid/online learning
